Terms of service
Every AceSite project runs against a written scope agreed before work starts. You own the finished work outright once it is paid for — the code, the content, the domain and the hosting account. Nothing on this page overrides what is written in your individual project agreement.
Scope and quotes
Quotes are based on a written scope. Anything not in that scope is quoted separately before it is built, never invoiced as a surprise. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
Payment
- Projects generally require 50% to schedule the work, with the balance due on launch.
- Larger builds are billed against agreed milestones.
- Hosting and care plans are billed monthly or annually in advance.
- All amounts are in South African rand.
Ownership
On full payment, all rights in the delivered work transfer to you. That includes the source code, the design files and the content we produced for the project. Third-party components — fonts, stock photography, libraries — remain under their own licences, which we will tell you about.
We retain the right to describe the work publicly and show it in our portfolio, unless you ask us in writing not to.
Your responsibilities
- Providing content, assets and feedback within agreed timeframes.
- Confirming you have the right to use any material you supply to us.
- Nominating one person who can make decisions and sign off.
Timelines
Timelines given at quoting stage assume feedback and content arrive when agreed. Delays on either side move the launch date, and we will tell you as soon as we know.
Revisions
Each project includes a defined number of revision rounds at the design stage, stated in your quote. Changes requested after sign-off, or after build has started, are quoted separately.
Support after launch
Projects include a post-launch support period stated in your quote, covering defects in what we built. It does not cover new features, content changes or problems caused by third-party services. Ongoing support is available on a care plan.
Hosting
Where we host your site, we aim for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Backups are taken daily. Hosting may be suspended if an account is significantly overdue, after notice.
Cancellation
Either party may end a project in writing. You pay for work completed to that point, and we hand over what has been produced.
Liability
Our liability in connection with any project is limited to the fees paid for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost data beyond our most recent backup.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
